Microsoft Internet Mail Set-Up Instructions for Online Services

  1. Open your Internet Mail program
  2. Go to the "Mail" menu and choose "Options"
  3. Click on the "Server" tab
  4. Type your name in the "Name" box (for example: Joe User)
  5. Type your email address in the "Email Address" box (for example: joeuser@dialoregon.net)
  6. Type "mail.dialoregon.net" in the "Outgoing Mail (SMTP)" box
  7. Type "mail.dialoregon.net" in the "Incoming Mail (POP3)" box
  8. If you have an option labeled "Logon Using" make sure it is marked
  9. Type your username in the "Account Name" or "POP3 Account" box (for example: joeuser)
  10. Click the "Logon Using" button so it has a dot in it
  11. Type your username in the "Account Name" box (for example: joeuser)
  12. If you do not want to type your password every time you check your mail, type your password in the "Password" box
  13. Click on the "Connection" tab
  14. Click on the "I use a modem" button so it has a dot in it
  15. Make sure the connection you use for dialoregon.net is showing in the box labeled "Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection" (if it is not, click on the down-arrow at the end of the box and choose your dialoregon.net connection)
  16. Click on the "OK" button
