General Information

What operating systems can the CST service be installed on?

* Windows 98
* Windows 98SE
* Windows Millennium Edition (Windows ME)
* Windows NT 4.0
* Windows 2000
* Windows XP
* Mac OS X (older versions will not work)

Linux is not supported at this time. Note that the CST Email Acceleration component requires Windows 98 and above and the CST Pop-up Blocker component requires Internet Explorer 5.0 and above.

How do I install the CST accelerator?

How do I start the CST accelerator?

The CST service is launched automatically every time you start your computer. You do not have to launch it manually. The CST service icon appears in the Windows system tray to show that it is operating in the background.

How do I use the CST Service with Internet Exporer?

Internet Explorer will automatically be configured to use the CST Service after installation.

How do I use the CST Service with Netscape Navigator?

Netscape Navigator should automatically be configured to use the CST Service after installation. If it is not, then you must set the HTTP proxy host to be "127.0.0.1" and the port number to 5400.

Click on Tools
Click on Options
Click on the Connection Settings button
Select the Manual proxy configuration option
Type "127.0.0.1" in the HTTP Proxy box
Type "5400" in the Port box next to the HTTP Proxy box
Click OK button
Click OK button

Click Edit
Click Preferences
On the Category list, click on the Advanced arrow so that it expands the listing
Click on Proxies under Advanced
Select the Manual proxy configuration option
Type "127.0.0.1" in the HTTP Proxy box
Type "5400" in the Port box next to the HTTP Proxy box
Click OK button

How do I use the CST Service with Mozilla?

You must set the HTTP proxy host to be "127.0.0.1" and the port number to 5400.

You must set the HTTP proxy host to be "127.0.0.1" and the port number to 5400.

Click on "File"
Select "Preferences"
Click on "Network"
Click on "Proxy Servers"
Check the "http" box
Type "127.0.0.1" in the empty box next to "http"
Type "5400" into the "port" box on the same line as "http"
Click OK
Click OK

How do I change the image quality for a particular image?

Right-clicking on an image within Internet Explorer and selecting "Show Original Image" allows you to view the original image. Selecting "Show All Original Images" allows you to view all original images on the entire web page.

How do I change the image quality setting for all images?

Right-click on the the CST Service taskbar icon and select "Settings". Select the "Image Quality" tab. Adjust the slider bar to the desired image quality setting. Press OK to save the changes. Please note that the higher quality the image, the slower the accelerator will work.

Email

How do I use the CST service with my email reader?

If your email reader is supported by the CST service, the CST service will automatically configure your email reader to use the accelerator.
