CST Accelerator Set-Up Instructions for Online Services
Windows Set-Up Instructions
Please do the following to install the CST Accelerator program:
-
Click on the following link to download the CST installer:
-
This should immediately open a 'file download' window and ask 'Do you want
to run or save this file?'
-
Since it's only a little over 1 MB in size, we suggest saving the file
onto your desktop first
-
Click on the 'save' button
-
This should open the 'Save As' window
-
Make sure the 'Save in:' field has 'desktop' listed in it (if not, press
the down arrow on the right side of this field and select the 'desktop'
option)
-
Click on the 'save' button again
-
A file entitled cst_install.exe should now show on your desktop now
-
Double click on the cst_install.exe file
-
A window should appear asking if you want to 'run' or 'cancel' this action.
Click on the 'run' button
-
Follow the instructions until the program is fully installed.
You will probably be instructed to reboot your computer after
the CST program has installed. The next time you dial-in, the
CST web accelerator program should automatically take effect. A
login screen for the CST service will pop up onto your desktop after
you have dialed-up and connected to Online Services.
Please note the following when placing your username and password
into the CST login screen:
- You will need to use your dial-up login name PLUS @dialoregon.net
to get logged onto the accelerator service. This is the login name that
you use to dial-up and get connected to the Internet. It may not be the
same as your mailbox login name (for example, you may check an extra
mailbox on our system, but you will need to use the actual dial-up login
name that your computer uses to get connected in the first place).
- For example: jsmith@dialoregon.net
will work
- jsmith
will NOT work (you MUST add @dialoregon.net)
- jsmith@oregonvos.net
will NOT work (you MUST use @dialoregon.net domain for this service)
- For those users that have been with us a long time,
the old 'p' number will NOT work (for example: p12345@dialoregon.net will
NOT work, you must use your actual account name).
- Your password should be whatever password you use to
get connected to us (the Internet) in the first place.
MacIntosh Set-Up Instructions
NOTE You must have OS X. Older versions of Mac OS will not work.
Please do the following to install the CST Accelerator program:
-
Click on the link listed below (this will automatically open an installer
window for you):
-
You will see a window entitled 'Install CST Accelerator'
-
Press the 'continue' button
-
This should take you to the 'end-user agreement' page. Please read
over the agreement and press the 'continue' button.
-
If you have read over the agreement, press the 'agree' button to continue.
-
Select where you want to install the CST program (most likely, you would
want to choose the hardrive you're currently using).
-
Press the 'close' button once the installation is complete.
After the program has been installed, you'll notice a login screen
for the CST service pop up onto your desktop.
Please note the following when placing your username and password into
the CST login screen:

that you use to dial-up and get connected to the Internet. It may not
be the same as your mailbox login name (for example, you may check an
extra mailbox on our system, but you will need to use the actual
dial-up login name that your computer uses to get connected in the
first place).
- For example:
jsmith@dialoregon.net will work
- For example:
jsmith@oregonvos.net will NOT work (you HAVE to
use the @dialoregon.net domain for this service)
- For those users that have been with us a long time, the old 'p'
number will NOT work (for example: p12345@dialoregon.net
will NOT work, you must use your actual account name).
- Your password should be whatever password you use to get
connected to us (the Internet) in the first place.
You are done! You should be able to open your web browser and your
computer will dial in, connect, and you will be able to go to web sites
faster than before!
