The computer facilities and infrastructure of Online Services are provided for the purpose of facilitating access to telecommunications infrastructure in all areas of the state on an equitable basis. There is an obligation on the part of those using the facilities and services to respect the intellectual property and access of others locally, nationally, and internationally. Any use of the facilities or infrastructure that is in violation of any of the guidelines listed below will be considered improper use, and account privileges may be forfeited and the account and all associated files may be deleted without compensation.
Guidelines:
Entry into the system, including use of the infrastructure, by individuals not specifically authorized, or attempts to circumvent the protective mechanisms of the systems and infrastructure shall be considered attempted theft and/or trespass.
Deliberate attempts to degrade system performance or capability, or attempts to damage systems, software, or intellectual property of others shall be viewed as criminal activity.
Computer accounts, including, but not limited to Web Pages, may not be used to distribute or store files containing nudity or sexually explicit material.
Accounts may not be used to engage in any illegal activity.
Accounts may not be used to store or distribute any information which causes file transfers to exceed the proper operational capacity levels set by system administrators. In the event that such activity is occurring on the system, the system administrators will attempt to contact the user prior to deleting or removing any user files.
The communication systems including, but not limited to, electronic mail, world wide web pages, and the Online Services telephone system shall not be used for sending of material considered obscene, offensive, or threatening. Online Services shall be the sole arbiter of what constitutes obscenity, and threatening or offensive misuse of the Online Services system.
